Mike installed our Pod Point and made the whole thing painless. Showed up when he said he would, explained what he was doing, swept up after himself. The cable run into the rendered wall looks neater than I thought possible. Set up the Octopus tariff for me before he left. Highly recommend.
Pod Point Solo 3S on a Saltney driveway
Sarah's new ID.3 needed somewhere to charge. A 12-metre cable run, a tidy install, and a smart tariff set up before we left.
Sarah and Dan picked up their VW ID.3 in February and realised pretty quickly that trickle-charging off a kitchen socket wasn't going to cut it. They asked us for a Pod Point Solo 3S, mounted by the front door so the cable could reach either side of the driveway.
The cable run was 12 metres from the consumer unit through the loft and down to the front of the house. We used 6mm SWA buried into the rendered wall, terminated into a Henley block at the consumer unit so we didn't need to disturb their main fuse.
Half a day's work, including the building control notification. We set up Pod Point's app on Sarah's phone, paired it to her Octopus Intelligent Go tariff, and showed her how to schedule charges for the cheap 7p window between 11:30pm and 5:30am.
She messaged a week later to say the first electricity bill since the install was lower than the one before — even though the car was now charging on it.
