Single-split installation
One indoor unit, one outdoor unit. The right call for a single bedroom, home office, or conservatory.
A single-split system is one indoor unit paired to one outdoor condenser. It's the default starting point for cooling a single room — the bedroom that overheats, the south-facing home office, the conservatory you stopped using in July.
We'll come and measure the room, look at the windows, the insulation, the orientation, and tell you the kW figure that'll cool it without short-cycling. For most domestic rooms in Cheshire that's somewhere between 2.0kW and 3.5kW — but the right answer is the right answer for *your* room, not the average.
We exclusively fit Daikin Perfera, Mitsubishi MSZ-LN and Toshiba Haori in the wall-mounted domestic class. All three are quiet (19-22 dBA at low fan), all three are A+++ rated, and all three give us a manufacturer-backed extended warranty (5-7 years depending on model).
Pipework runs vary in cost more than the unit itself. A clean, short run with the outdoor unit on the same wall is the cheapest install we do; a complex run with internal trunking and a relocation of the condenser to the side passage adds time and material. The desktop survey is designed to flush this out before anyone quotes a price.
Every install we do, this is in.
The line items below are non-negotiable on every job. Anything beyond — relocation of an outdoor unit, building works, listed-building consent — is quoted separately and clearly.
- Heat-load calculation for the specific room
- Daikin, Mitsubishi or Toshiba indoor + outdoor unit
- Up to 5m of pre-insulated pipework
- Condensate pump or gravity drain
- Commissioning and F-Gas record
- Manufacturer's extended warranty (5–7 years)
- Annual service plan available
Things people ask before booking.
How long does a single-split install take?
Most domestic single-splits are a one-day install with two engineers. Pipework runs longer than 8m or core-drilling through stone walls can extend it to a day and a half.
Will it heat the room in winter?
Yes — every system we fit is reverse-cycle, so it heats as well as cools. SCOP figures of 4.5+ on the units we use mean roughly 4.5kW of heat for every 1kW of electricity, which is cheaper than running an electric radiator and competitive with a gas combi at current prices.
How disruptive is the install?
Modest. We'll lay dust sheets, core-drill the wall (one 65mm hole), route the pipework, mount both units, and commission. We hoover up after ourselves. You don't need to be home all day — we just need access for arrival, the core-drill, and the final sign-off.
